DMSO

Side Effects and Risks:

Skin Irritation:  It’s not unusual for people to experience redness, itching, or a slight tingling sensation where DMSO is applied.  These symptoms are typically short-lived and tend to subside as your skin gets used to it.

Garlic-like Taste and Odor: DMSO can cause a temporary garlic-like taste in your mouth shortly after application, even if applied nowhere near your mouth!  This is part of how DMSO interacts with the system and the taste usually fades after a short time.

Headaches: Though less common, headaches are sometimes reported by those new to DMSO usage.  The exact mechanism isn’t entirely understood but staying hydrated and monitoring your usage should help mitigate this risk.

Eye Irritation:  Contact with eyes isn’t advisable as it can lead to discomfort or irritation due to DMSO’s high penetration capability.  It’s best to apply carefully and wash hands thoroughly after use if applying elsewhere on the body.
